Fall in Love .....it's New Hampshire !! :)

It's here , Fall as you commonly call it and Autumn as you may say...Autumn is beautiful not only because it brings colors red yellow and orange the vibrant one's , but also because, it gives a head start to a series of colorful festivals...Durga Puja,Dusshera, Halloween, Karwa Chauth, Diwali, Thanks Giving and Christmas. So there are colors of festivals and there are colors of nature , commonly called Fall colors ... also a very popular tourist activity in here in North America...
I have been busy traveling this year , and this month was booked to see the leaves turn orange yellow and red. It was such a beautiful sight ...there are many places in the north where you can visit to see the colors...
the best would be Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Boston. You have to see it to believe it as to how beautiful it can be...
The best time to Visit these places would be between September to October, You can find detailed information on all these states , like the  time to visit,  the Fall Foliage reports  and areas to cover etc, on many websites totally dedicated to Fall Colors, I chose New Hampshire because thats where the colors were peaking at this time of the year..
Here's how New Hampshire looked this year 2010 in September end,....Truly an awesome experience for me..

BOSTON...

It was not long back when I used to write for a travelogue... strange as it may sound  I actually had forgotten about this .almost ... but about a week back when we were planning a trip to Boston on a  Labor day weekend, it struck me ....Hey! I can actually write a travelogue on my blog itself,Now with the realization in place ..I seriously am so excited about this!!!!!!.... What would be different this  time,.. that it would be less of stats , and  more about my experience and my views about the places I visit or have visited.

So here I go  with my first posting...and this is about  Boston ( I just visited this labor day weekend),...

Home to Harvard University and MIT....Boston is a small but not so small University township which has over the years grown and now is a host to a bunch of fortune 500 companies of the world, apart from being the proud owner of one of the World's best University,
Boston is Scenic, Colorful, artsy and serene....it has 9 man made parks which are termed as Emerald Necklace and they add to the natural beauty of the place, apart from being good recreational place for everybody. Boston Would be to a tourist, The Harvard Square , University area, North End Water Front Marina, Chinatown , Quincy Market, and the black bay! there must be some more which I may be missing..
Here's a glimpse of Boston as I see it...

The famous Quincy market of Boston ,

it has almost 300 shops..including eateries of all types and countries and art shops and all the brands ...

Rows of eateries .. which includes our own Bombay Club...

Boston Water Front Marina....is a beautiful sea shore, in the North End...you can take a walk till the end of the shore and see the beautiful sunrise and sunsets, there are food joints nearby where you can sit in the open and have drink or two ..and there are also activities for the children like a carousel and sprinklers...the idea is to have Fun!!

One of nine Parks in the Emerald Necklace..it is very soothing to just sit and relax here or take pictures while the kids can have fun in the sprinklers , parks are open till late in the night..
Harvard Book store at Harvard Square in the University Area...Harvard University is one if the busiest and oldest areas of Boston...the crowd is young and energetic.... and includes both  the students and the tourists.

Below is the Harvard University Campus and the Statue of John Harvard where almost at all times there is a queue of tourists to get photographed with the first benefactor of the oldest institution of higher learning in United States.

And there is the MIT campus nearby and Harvard Law School and many more ...It is actually very difficult to explore the entire campus and Boston itself in two days , specially when the idea of vacation ( for somebody like me) is to relax and laze , but all in all Boston is Fun...!!

.go see and visit yourself to capture more... :) until then

see ya soon again..

Say it with Flowers na...:)!! For Rekha and Sharon of theKeyBunch!

These Flowers are from our Terrace Garden back in India...Each one  of them hand grown by my Dad..so the flowers trees and shrubs in the pictures here,..all of them are very dear to me...because they remind me of the awesome time I spent with him...gardening...
Though I also love gardening but he is the dedicated one..so much so that even after his valve replacement surgery last year , when he came back home ...his first few worries included the state of his garden and whether or not the gardener was sincere in his efforts in caring for his plants ...and that's why when I thought of posting for Rekha and Sharon's Septemeber Blog Carnival! Say it with Flowers na...:)!! This one was the first in my mind....So here's a taste of my garden year last year from January to April...

These are hybrid Petunias in Double Shades..

below is the bed with various varieties, including Nasturtium's, Marigolds and Gerbera's

and Here's my favorite,...Frangipani, in full bloom, the pink shade is just adorable..

and this one the "Gulmohar"though not a part of the terrace garden but still a part of it...because  it has grown from the ground to such a height that not only it is taller than the terrace itself but also gives much needed shade to the plants on the terrace. Also its a sheer delight to the eyes in the month of March and April with its wonderful and vibrant colors...

Rekha and Sharon of Key Bunch are celebrating 2nd Anniversary of their Blog ....with a nice and Fun idea..of September Blog Carnival! Say it with Flowers Na! Do visit them at thekeybunch.blogspot.com
Thanks! Rekha and Sharon for visiting my blog and leaving such nice comments. I do look forward to hear more from you. Wishing you both all the Very Best!!
