Sensitive Words! (Celebrating the 2500th birth anniversary of the Written Word)

 Once again from Grandpa's pen
"While being lathered for a shave in a salon,Victor Hugo held up the barber's hand and asked him to pause for some time.He fished up a pencil from his left pocket and fumbled in the right for a piece of paper.Failing in his search,he picked up one lying before him.

The barber anxiously waited for the writing to stop so that he could finish the shave but Hugo was immersed in writing.Exasperated, the barber said "Sir,please hurry up,I have a lot of work to do" Hugo got up and left the shop, with the lather still on his face, saying " Oh! I too have a lot of work to do."

The piece of paper in question. contained a list of eighteen of the barber's creditors from whom he had to collect his dues. However, his loss resulted in an invaluable gain to France.

Hugo had written on that piece of paper some beautiful poems which are considered immortal gems of the national literary treasure."

And here's some thoughts to ponder :)

1 .When the One Great Scorer comes to mark against your name;
He writes not that you won or lost; but how you played the game……Greatland Rice

2 ." I do not commit myself to heaven or hell" you see,”I have friends in both the places…….Mark Twain

3 . People pay for what they do and still more for what they have allowed themselves to become. And they pay for it simply by the lives they lead…..Edith Wharton

  4. If you talk to a person in a language he knows, that will go to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that will go to his heart….Nelson Mandela

Piya Bawari (Padma - Madly in love) !

There are few things you always cherish in your life , this is one of them ...I have been wanting to share this with you all ever since I received it,...but the lack of time to click good pictures delayed it.
Do you remember ...Rachana Saurabh's post where she mentioned that any one who suggests a name for her recent painting would get a print of it...well there were a a few suggestions...and after some good thought Rachana zeroed on "Padma- Madly in Love ". So by now you must have guessed , that I definitely was a part of this win and so I write....yep! She actually chose two names and combined them into one,

She chose Padma ( by a fellow blogger Nisha ) and Piya Bawari - Madly in Love ( by your's truly) ...Well! Ever since she announced , I was excited , and eagerly awaited my win (print) ...I just recently received it...in fact I was so eager that I had already chosen a frame for it while I waited....

and actually my wait was worth it..the print looks gorgeous..and I wonder, if the print is so gorgeous how beautiful would the original be.....for now I am happy drooling over my print...Thanks Rachana you made my day!!

PS: Rachana blogs at Creations-essence of arts and you can buy her products on Etsy here

It's Janmashtami Today! I was reading the news and posts on other blogs , then I remembered...it was last year when I was visiting my grandparents , then during one of our conversations he had quipped about a beautiful doha( couplet) by the great poet and philosopher of his times "Raskhan" ..
Which goes like this ,
"Kaag ke bhaag ka kahiho
Hari haath se le gayo Maakhan Roti"
(Meaning: Blessed is the crow , who has the luck to snatch the buttered Chapati from the hands of the Supreme Krishna)
Happy Birthday Krishna!! and Happy Janmashtami! to those who follow and celebrate :)

Few thoughts to share..the mommy to be whose baby shower pictures I clicked has a baby girl !! So it's pink all the way!!! Congratulations to the new parents.

I read somewhere and firmly believe ,You should choose your words..and your actions carefully,......they have the power to make you as well as destroy you..they have the power to build a relationship and destroy it too.....well! that was me ...getting philosophical .. am sure many of you would be waiting for the weekly post by my dear Grandpa..so without further delay ...find below , what he has to say this week : )....

Diogenes , the cynic Greek philosopher(350 BC),a pupil of Socrates, is widely remembered for his famous search for an honest man, conducted in broad daylight with a lighted lantern.
Once a young man saw him begging alms from a stone statue .He asked him“Why are you begging from a statue? Would it give alms to you?
Diogenes replied "I am begging from the statue to practise forbearance in case any one refuses to give alms to me"

And here's some curry for the Soul :)

1.Be content to seem what really you are.....Marcus Aurelius
2.It is not the mountains we conquer but ourselves....Edmund Hillary
3.People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the Sun is out but when darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
4.After all the hullabaloo,it is jocular to find that "nuclear" is only an anagram of "unclear"

The Pool Party!! :) :)

It's Tuesday already and it's been raining continuously here( since Sunday actually)..the weather is really bad and winter it seems is approaching fast....and I know  before we would even realize ..summer would be gone ..pools would be closed ..parks will start wearing deserted looks ..and we have to once again start brainstorming to keep the kids  engaged...I actually am thinking of starting a craft class once a week for 2-6 year olds this winter ....hopefully to keep them engaged as well as provide mommies some fun time with their kids...Let's see if it works out :)
As I was talking summer ,... So do you think that pool party actually took place??....the one I was talking about last Friday...(think.. think.. think...guess.. guess.. guess..).It sure did and we had loads of FUN!!! and I think we did organize it at the right time, for the very next day the weather changed to rainy and cold...while on the pool party ...I never thought I would have fun in the Sun , but the grilled burgers and Paneer Tikka rolls , homemade mock tails..and watermelons made it really soothing and enjoyable.... Here are the few pictures I clicked ...

Sensitive Words!( celebrating the 2500th Year of the Written Word)

"Wishing  a Very Very Happy Independence Day to All the Indians"
'Lokpal Authority' The current and a very prominent issue currently doing rounds in the Indian political scene and also invoking deep interest from the masses as well, thanks to Mr. Anna Hazare. Here's my Grandpa's take on that , and then don't miss the weekly Quota of good thoughts underneath :) Your opinions and suggestions welcome :)

Composition of proposed Indian Lokpal Authority --- a suggestion on this extremely controversial issue

"Generally speaking age does command respect and trust in  human society. Specifically speaking, retired Supreme Court judges do so, abundantly having had occupied the top position in the constitutional
hierarchy of our country. As such ,they do provide a viable alternative to the vexed question of the composition of the proposed Lokpal body within the framework of the constitution.
In my humble opinion, the Lokpal authority at the Centre and in the States should be composed of only retired Supreme Court and High Court Judges, respectively below the age of 75 years to be transparently
appointed in order of their seniority in age  and to retire at the age of 77.Their salary should be only next to that of the President. The PM and Judiciary should be answerable to this august body.
The proposed appointees would fully meet the twin requirements of being from the civil society and having the highest sense of integrity, honesty and truthfulness besides having deep knowledge of the multifarious laws, rules and regulations of our country which would necessarily be required in the performance of their duties to root out the cancer of corruption at high places"
- Atul Kumar Jain,.
New Area, Dalmianagar

and Here's something to make you think and Smile and may be inspire

 1. If I could rearrange the alphabets I would put "U" and "I" closer together.
 2. How did the great seas gain domain over the rivers? By being
lower than them.
3.A woman is like a teabag. You never know her strength until she
is in hot water....Mrs Nancy Reagan
  4. An optimist sees the rose, a pessimist the thorn.

Sensitive Words! (celebrating the 2500th Year of the Written Word )

I should have started this column with the words below , but some how it didn't click to me at that time when I did the first posting of the "Words of Wisdom". But as they say :) Better late than never..
Here are thoughts expressed by my Grandpa in a mail regarding our discussion and idea about him contributing to the blog ...In his words

"Your Blog "Sensitive Creations"covers many human expressions in various fields but a very important area of the "Written Word" is conspicuous by its absence.Besides God's awe inspiring cosmic creations, Man's emotions and thoughts, not too remotely akin to them, were expressed in elusive oral words, till as late as 2400 years ago.The birth of the written words, thereafter, marked an epoch making step in the evolution of human civilisation,as they crystallised the amorphous oral into concrete written form."

"May I suggest to you to provide a small space entitled "Sensitive written Words" in it for which I can regularly e-mail to you precious words from my lifelong collection of quotes from world masters? This idea is in response to your earlier suggestion to me to contribute to your Blog at least once a month...... dadu.."

and here's his response to my first post :)

Your Aug 1 issue was eye-catching.It also displayed the four quotations sent by me.My feeling is that instead of the caption "Words of Wisdom" it may be more matching with your Blog and more appealing if you consider " Sensitive Written Words " or "Sensitive Words" followed underneath in italics by "celebrating the
2500th year of the birth of the Written Word" in bracket. It is,surprisingly, a scarcely known historical fact despite its great importance in the evolution of human civilisation as mentioned by me earlier. In today's world of mushrooming anniversaries for little known events, our initiative in this direction for the written word
would be singular and unique.
And so you see the change in the title :)
and here we present his choicest thoughts for this week

1)The words that enlighten our soul are more precious than gold and jewels.

2) To do is your duty, fruit is not thy concern.....Bhagwan Krishna

3)There is no such thing as pursuit of happiness and joy-- they are mysterious and elusive.Their small measure attainable by man exists only in so far as he is able to cease to think of himself.

4)Nature has given women so much power that law has very wisely given them little....Samuel Johnson .

As usual I hope they would motivate and inspire you this week and more...

A Couple of weekends before , we were invited for a Baby shower and Aathwa Function, both as a guest and sort of their official photographer  ( my brother recommended them " why do you want to  hire a professional ,when my sis can do the same") Whew! that's loads of confidence , thanks bro !!..Well! I was excited but not so excited...as I was not sure that as an amature photographer ..how would the pictures come out and whether they would like it or not ..after all it's somebody's  special function...but I guess once I started clicking ...it wasn't so bad :) ..I actually clicked 300 pictures for them in those 3 hours...mostly all of them were with people...but here are some I clicked to capture the ambiance ...

The Mommy to be's Mehndi for the Aathwa's Pooja
